BugzUK is a unique attraction in Norfolk, indeed in the UK. They are the largest all invertebrate zoo in the UK and are new to Norfolk, having opened to the public in May 2022.
A visit to the BugzUK Parc is a must to see hundreds of incredible tropical insects, millipedes, spiders and tarantulas, plus so many other minibeasts. All of these amazing tropical invertebrates are housed in their own purpose-built enclosures to allow visitors to see their lifecycle as it happens, from moulting and feeding to breeding. BugzUK even have a huge colony of leaf cutting ants that have to walk through 40 metres of tubes around the walls to their grazing outworld, a real sight to behold and one of the most popular parts of the day at the Parc.
You can even book an hourly handling session, as part of a group of up to eighteen visitors, where you will handle several large tropical insects and other invertebrates. The kids, and adults, thoroughly enjoy this experience.
BugzUK also offer private tours for small groups of up to ten visitors on Mondays and Tuesdays, where a staff member will accompany the group on their tour. The guide talks about the animals and opens cages so visitors can handle various creatures during the tour.
During holidays and weekends, when the Parc is busy, it is advisable to pre book your ticket and the handling sessions to avoid disappointment.
With plenty of informative wall boards and loads of large creepy crawlies, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
Set in a woodland, the Parc also has a large butterfly themed affordable Cafe and a fabulous gift shop. There is free parking. Dogs are welcome on the patio outside the Cafe, but cannot come into the Parc.
