Over 25 years of delivering great Theatre in Norwich
Norwich Playhouse opened in 1995 in a building that dates back over 150 years and was once a riverside maltings. Aside from this fact, the Playhouse is modern in almost every other way (it was revamped extensively in 2017). An intimate, yet airy performance space with surprisingly comfortable seats and a regular timetable of great drama, comedy, musical theatre and dance make the Playhouse a venue worth checking out.
In addition to the superb theatre offering, Norwich Playhouse has a fantastic and usually bustling bar and an award winning outside terrace and garden. Expect real ales from local breweries, German lagers on tap, delicious wines, exotic tea and coffee and light snacks and treats flanked by exhibited art and live music/DJ sounds.
We’ve enjoyed countless shows at Norwich Playhouse, and really rate it as a venue. Meanwhile, with its well-stocked bar, relaxed outside/inside vibe and lovely staff, the Playhouse Bar in Norwich is a good place to see in the weekend.
