A celebration of puppetry in Norwich

Norwich Puppet Theatre is one of only a handful of theatres in England that is dedicated to creating, presenting and supporting innovation in puppetry and related art forms. Throughout the year, Norwich Puppet Theatre programmes leading international puppetry companies for Early Years audiences, families and adults. The organisation (a registered charity) also creates and tour their own productions around the UK and internationally. Norwich Puppet Theatre holds regular workshops for all age groups and provides professional development opportunities with masterclasses led by leading figures within the industry.

The Theatre is housed in a Grade I listed Medieval building in the centre of Norwich, the church of Saint James, which still includes many original features, but is also now home to a large family of puppets. Now in the care of the Norwich Historic Churches Trust, St James Church is only a few minutes walk from Norwich Cathedral. Opened as a public venue in 1980, Norwich Puppet Theatre seats over 160 in a raked auditorium and a further 50 in the Octagon Studio.
