The Bug Parc is a unique attraction in Norfolk, indeed in the UK. They are the largest all invertebrate zoo in the UK, opening to the public in May 2022, with their new tropical Butterfly House having opened in May 2025.

A visit to the The Bug Parc is a must to see hundreds of incredible tropical insects, millipedes, spiders and tarantulas, plus so many other minibeasts. All of these amazing tropical invertebrates are housed in their own purpose-built enclosures to allow visitors to see their lifecycle as it happens, from moulting and feeding to breeding. The Bug Parc even have a huge colony of leaf cutting ants that have to walk through 40 metres of tubes around the walls to their grazing outworld, a real sight to behold and one of the most popular parts of the day at the Parc.

With the addition of the Tropical Butterfly House The Bug Parc has become a must visit for children and adults of all ages. The Tropical Buttefly House is home to around 400 butterflies of all different varieties at any one time and is a little paradise where you are able to sit and enjoy every part of these beautify creatures’ life cycle. They even have two large ponds filled with some beautiful carp and goldfish!

You can even book an hourly handling session, as part of a group of up to eighteen visitors, where you will handle several large tropical insects and other invertebrates. The kids, and adults, thoroughly enjoy this experience.

The Bug Parc also offer private tours for small groups of up to ten visitors on Mondays and Tuesdays, where a staff member will accompany the group on their tour. The guide talks about the animals and opens cages so visitors can handle various creatures during the tour.

During holidays and weekends, when the Parc is busy, it is advisable to pre book your ticket and the handling sessions to avoid disappointment.

With plenty of informative wall boards and loads of large creepy crawlies, there is something for the whole family to enjoy. Enter their monthly prize draw to win a giant cuddly spider by completing the wonderful external stamp trail or the monthly changing trail inside the zoo.

Set in a woodland, the Parc also has a large butterfly themed affordable Café (also open to people not visiting the Parc) and a fabulous gift shop. There is free parking. Dogs are welcome on the patio outside the Café, but cannot come into the Parc.
