The Giggly Goat opened in March 2014 in Lower Goat Lane – a street that is bursting with a potpourri of high-quality Independent shops and cafes. Nestled within the vibrant Norwich Lanes and close to the historic Norwich Market, it’s in a super location.
The Giggly Goat is a lovely fusion of craft shop and gallery. It specialises in beautiful UK handmade products and currently houses over 90 different makers. Within this collection there are ceramics, jewellery, glass, textiles, homewares, original paintings, limited edition prints, greetings cards & gift wrap. Since opening, their collection has expanded through visiting bi-annual Trade Shows and of course, including some talented local artists too. Owner Helen and her team are very passionate about high quality and handmade items and have earned a good reputation as a result.
Helen was inspired to open her business by her Mum, North Norfolk potter Philippa Lee and owner of The Hare and The Hen in Burnham Deepdale. Having studied a Design Degree, and worked for her Mum, Helen was keen to find her place in the world. A chance visit to Jane Richards Interiors, which was The Giggly Goat’s predecessor, alerted Helen & Philippa that the building was about to be up for rent – and so the opportunity was seized! Over six years on and one pandemic hopefully survived, Helen is excited to see what the next six bring!
We think this little haven for handmade and beautiful things is well worth a visit, and perfect if you’re looking for something unique and lovely for yourself or to give as a gift.
