Going strong and hugely popular since its establishment in 1978, The Waffle House offers a deliciously different dining experience if you are looking for new ideas for lunch, an evening out or a place to meet for business or pleasure.
On two levels, in intimate and comfortable surroundings with air conditioning for the warmer months, The Waffle House specialises in absolutely delicious sweet and savoury Belgian waffles. The emphasis is on local, wholesome, organic and free-range ingredients where possible and equal importance is put on Vegetarian / Vegan Food in their menu. They also offer low gluten & vegan waffles too. Probably the only dilemma is deciding whether to have a savoury or a sweet waffle, as attempting both can be a challenge for all but the hungriest diner. However, with delights such as Cheddar Cheese Sauce & Local Waveney Mushrooms (highly recommended) and The Banoffee Waffle, plus delicious daily specials, All Day Breakfast, salads and freshly made milk shakes (not just for kids), we’d recommend you leave plenty of room. A good selection of wines, beers and locally sourced Fairtrade dark roast coffees are available to accompany your meal (as, of course, is the essential flagon of Maple Syrup on each table).
The prices are reasonable – a savoury waffle starts at £7.50 and sweet waffles start at around £5.
Families are welcome (in fact it’s a great place to take the kids – there is a special children’s menu for the under 7’s.
Note: There is only limited parking available outside the restaurant. One hour maximum stay before 6.30pm. Unlimited stay after 6.30pm.
