Children's Sportscamps at UEA Sportscamps.

It should be easy to encourage youngsters to get more active or to share a fun and sporty experience as a family if you can get to the Sportspark. Found on the University of East Anglia (UEA) campus, just a 10 minute drive from Norwich City Centre, the sporting facilities are some of the best in the region (in the Country in some cases), with plenty to offer families and children.

Water babies get a head start with Antenatal pool classes for their pregnant Mummies. Then there are Postnatal Classes and family swimming sessions every weekend & during half term holidays. If you want to learn to swim there is the SPLASH Learn To Swim Programme. Having tried most swimming activities, we can recommend them highly.

Dry side activities for children range from pre-school gymnastics in the fantastic Spring Gymnastics Centre to sports courses and Junior Climbing Club.

Throughout every school holiday, the Sportspark runs Sportscamps – multi-activity camps for the over 5s. Little Man did a week-long Summer Sportscamp and had a wonderful time, trying everything from climbing to Danish Longball (no, me neither). Suffice to say, he’ll be returning.

Sportspark also holds children’s parties (including Gymnastics parties, Trampolining parties, Climbing parties and use of the sports hall). Minimum age varies according to activity, but starts at 5 years old.

Sportspark also offers:

Inclusive Sports Club – runs every Wednesday between 11:40 until 13:00 and welcomes disabled groups, disabled individuals (16+) and their carers.

Activity Group – For those with dementia and any other life changing illnesses. A friendly drop in session where you can chat over a cup of coffee and try your hand at a few activities if you wish, including Boccia, table tennis, short tennis, new age curling, indoor golf, dance and stretching for health.

Fitness in Later Life – The programme offers a range of sports and activities for the over fifties and offers the chance to develop a positive, healthy and active lifestyle amongst people with similar interests.

Living in Norwich, we’re privileged to have this amazing facility on our doorstep. With the huge variety of activities on offer, amazing facilities and ‘turn up and play’ philosophy, getting kids interested in sport couldn’t be easier.
