Norfolk students! A ONE NIGHT ONLY event of exclusive deals and discounts will be taking place at intu Chapelfield on Thursday 4th October.
Over 50 of intu Chapelfield’s top retailers and restaurants such as H&M, Office and Byron Hamburgers are taking part in this annual student shopping night, with as much as 30% off in some stores.
There will also be plenty of free live entertainment including DJs in JD, Pandora and Levi’s, and a green screen photo booth and glitter bar on the mall.
Mental health foundation Blurt will also be at this year’s event, which takes place from 5pm to 9pm, to raise awareness of depression and mental ill health among young people.
intu has joined forces with Blurt to run mental health drop-in sessions at every student shopping night being held at intu centres up and down the UK, where they will provide advice and information on where to seek help to cope with stressful situations.
Rebecca Downie at intu Chapelfield said: “We’re looking forward to giving Norwich’s student population a night to remember, where as well as being treated to some brilliant discounts and deals they’ll be able to enjoy all the entertainment on offer – getting their new sixth form, college or university year off to a great start.”
“For the first time, we’ve invited mental health foundation Blurt to intu Chapelfield’s Student Night, where they will be on hand to raise awareness of mental health among young people and provide support and more information on where to seek help.”
River Island store manager Helen Bradford said: “We love intu’s annual student night and it seems to get bigger and better every year. River Island is treating students to 20% off across the store, so they can update their new season wardrobe for less.”
The partnership between intu Chapelfield and Blurt follows research by advocacy and research body Universities UK which found 94% of universities have noted a ‘sharp increase’ in the number of people looking for support services over the past five years.
Jayne Hardy, Blurt’s founder and chief executive, said: “We admire intu’s socially responsible approach and look forward to seeing what impact our student shopping nights partnership brings to young people at a time when support for mental health is greatly needed.”
