The English Whisky Company launches its latest single malt whisky

There’s something very special about a glass of whisky. While the amber liquid swirls around the glass, it belies the sheer effort, love and craftsmanship that has gone into creating ‘the water of life’.

The English – Virgin Oak is the latest release from The English Whisky Co; it is from their small batch, single malt whisky range; with only 2689 bottles to go around the whole world. So, it’s well worth seeking out.

The English Virgin Oak Single Malt Whisky

The English – Virgin Oak has matured gently in casks laid down by The English Whisky Co. in Roudham, Norfolk; at England’s oldest registered whisky distillery. The distillery produces a number of The English’s award-winning whiskies and currently holds the unbeaten record for Best European Whiskies, which is no mean feat if you look at the competition.

The English – Virgin Oak has spent its entire life maturing in the most beautiful virgin oak casks made from American white oak; the resulting whisky borrows heavily from the casks that held it and delivers a rich and spicy malt that captures oak’s signature nods to vanilla, chocolate, toffee & spices and finishes with a warm, lingering heat.

The English – Virgin Oak’s release marks the beginning of a New Year for The English Whisky Co, having in 2018 secured numerous awards and earning a place in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible, which has named the Norfolk distillery’s single-grain whisky “Parched” as Europe’s Best Single Cask Whisky. The Distillery is now looking to build on this success with a series of exceptional releases in 2019.

Andrew Nelstrop, Owner of The English Whisky Co., says “What started off as an experiment has turned out to be a winner. We are really thrilled with this single malt whisky. The whisky is rich and oily with hints of honey, toffee and chocolate; a taste of chocolate and cloves lingers on the palate. What is there not to like?”
